Each generation has a choice. Many choices. Ultimately, we can CHOOSE to leave a greater spiritual inheritance for those that follow us, or to fall farther away from God. As for OUR GENERATION we want to fall back to a place of pure worship for our King, and to bring personal and corporate revival. Our generation WILL shake entire nations. To win entire nations for God! This is not easy. We are convinced that following God is the hardest thing anyone can do on this earth. In order to do this, we need to wake up out of religious complacency and spiritual death! The hour has come for us to awake from our sleep.
So let's focus on the first commandment. Love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our might. Run at a full sprint and don't stop. Be more afraid of rotting out from complacency than burning out from running too hard. This is the one thing that matters. There is no greater commandment. This is the anthem of our generation, here we are God, shake our nation!
2 Corinthians 4: 8-12
We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized; we're not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side; we've been thrown down, but we haven't broken. What they did to Jesus, they do to us—trial and torture, mockery and murder; what Jesus did among them, he does in us—he lives! Our lives are at constant risk for Jesus' sake, which makes Jesus' life all the more evident in us. While we're going through the worst, you're getting in on the best!
Youth Director - (Left) Yelena Masaniai was born in Berkeley, CA. She is a graduate of Jubilee Bible College. She has worked with youth from different walks of life and feels that this is the calling that God has called her to do. Yelena is known for her prophetic words, passionate & practical proclamation of the Word of God. She will stir your emotions, challenge your intellect and push you beyond your spiritual limits.
Co-Youth Director - (Right) Rev. Henry Corona - Rev. Henry Corona lives in San Jose and attends Mission College, he was ordained a Reverend at the age of 28. He has worked mostly with men's group homes building them up, but God stirred up a passion and a desire in him for young people. Having had a rough childhood growing up and having kids of his own motivated him even more to get involved with young people. His heart is to see this generation rise up and be used for God's kingdom. He delivers the word in a way that young people can understand and relate to.
Staff - (Below Left) Marlena Jennings - Marlena is one of our high school students that has taken a stand to want more for her generation. She is currently helping the staff through an internship and gives valuable ideas to the staff member since she brings ideas that represent the youth we work with.
Staff - (Below Right) Jesse Veu - Jesse is currently our youngest staff member at Crossroad Calvary Chapel Youth Ministry. What better way to raise a young man of God, but to have him work directly with the staff members. He currently is in middle school, yet his ideas and thoughts are very valuable to have in our staff in order to make the changes that we need.
The word “Christian” literally means, “professing belief in Jesus as Christ”. A Christian is someone who’s been born again by God and has put faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8 tells us that it is “…by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
A true Christian is a person who has put faith and trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ, including His death on the cross as payment for sins and His resurrection on the third day. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word. A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Jesus Christ.
In Christ, we are made an entirely new creation, just as God created the heavens and the earth In Christ, we are regenerated, renewed, and born again, and this new creation is spiritually minded. The new nature fellowships with God, obeys His will, and is devoted to His service. These are actions the old nature is incapable of doing or even desiring to do. The old nature is dead to the things of the spirit and cannot revive itself. In Christ we are loved, forgiven, and secure. In Christ we are adopted, justified, redeemed, reconciled, and chosen. In Christ we are victorious and filled with joy and peace. What a wonderful Savior Christ is!
