About EAST

EAST (Environmental and Spatial Technology) is a project-based student driven curriculum where students identify problems in their school or community and then design strategies to correct the problem. It was founded in Greenbrier, Arkansas, with one class and has spread across the United States now having over 120 programs. The latest in software applications and technology are available for the students to work with. Students may choose from graphic design, architectural design, creating music, animation, photo and video editing, GPS/GIS equipment, and Apple IMacs. There are no lectures by the teacher. Students must be self-motivated and take responsibility for their own learning.
