Here are some sites you will want to access for more information on the Traits.

Remember:

• The written response to the cross-text analysis is counted toward the reading score, not writing
• Teach students the difference between details and lists.  Details paint pictures, lists tell items.
• When working with the MEAP six point rubric, a minimum score of 4 is desirable.  On a four point rubric, 3 is desirable.
• When analyzing peer writing, students must be given ample opportunities to write about what made it a good piece or how it can be improved.  Just discussing will not be enough.
